The worst-case scenario is that your Windows display driver has somehow become corrupted in a way that affects the display of your desktop background. Now try selecting a new desktop background.

The currently selected background image is stored as a temporary file labeled TranscodedWallpaper.jpg. Look for a Corrupted TranscodedWallpaper.jpg File If it works, you need to uninstall the offending utility. If you find one, select that item and click End task.

Try selecting a color instead if the picture isn’t working, and if one color doesn’t work, try another.
